Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
This website is operated by an authorised network of certified Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) advisors (“Postal Insurance”, “we”, “us”). We act as an information and lead-facilitation service between prospective customers and our advisor network. Policies are issued by the Department of Posts, Government of India. We are not the insurer.
2. What information we collect
- Contact details you submit through quote, callback, doorstep, contact and inquiry forms — name, mobile, email, city and pincode.
- Policy interest — the plan you selected, sum assured, age, occupation and any free-text notes.
- Existing-customer service requests — policy number, request type (renewal / revival / loan / claim / duplicate bond / address change) and supporting notes you choose to share.
- Technical data — IP address, device type, browser, referrer URL, timezone and pages viewed. Collected via server logs and, if you consent, analytics cookies.
- Communication records — call notes, WhatsApp click events (we do not read your WhatsApp chats) and email correspondence with our advisor.
We do not ask for, collect or store your PLI policy password, Aadhaar OTP, net-banking credentials, debit/credit card numbers or CVV. All premium payments happen directly on the official India Post portal (indiapost.gov.in).
3. How we use it
- To contact you regarding your quote, callback or service request.
- To share personalised plan comparisons, premium estimates and eligibility guidance.
- To send policy-related reminders (renewal due dates, revival window, maturity) through phone, SMS, WhatsApp or email.
- To improve the website, our content and our advisor training — in aggregate, non-personal form.
- To comply with legal, regulatory and audit obligations.
4. Legal basis (DPDP Act, 2023)
We process your personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 on the basis of your consent, provided when you submit any form on this website. You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to our Grievance Officer (see the Grievance Redressal page).
5. Sharing & disclosure
- With the assigned advisor from our network who will service your enquiry.
- With the Department of Posts when submitting a proposal, service request or claim on your behalf, only after your explicit authorisation.
- With hosting, email and analytics service providers under contract and India-region data-residency requirements where applicable.
- When required by law, court order or a lawful regulator request.
We do not sell or rent your personal data to any third party for marketing.
6. Retention
Lead and enquiry data is retained for up to 36 months from your last interaction to service follow-ups and audit. Customer records linked to an issued PLI/RPLI policy are retained for the duration of the policy plus 7 years, in line with typical insurance record-keeping norms. Server logs are retained for 90 days.
7. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you may:
- Access a summary of personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or update of inaccurate data.
- Request erasure once the purpose is served.
- Nominate a person to exercise these rights in the event of your incapacity or death.
- Raise a grievance — first with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India if unresolved.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies for session, security and load-balancing. If enabled by our operator, we also use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate traffic; IP addresses are anonymised where supported. You may opt out of non-essential cookies via your browser settings.
9. Security
We use HTTPS across the site, hashed passwords for advisor logins, access control on our CRM and encrypted storage for uploaded documents. No system is 100% secure — please share only the minimum information needed and report suspicious activity to us immediately.
10. Children
Our services are intended for adults 18 years and above. Children’s policies (Bal Jeevan Bima) are proposed by a parent or guardian who provides consent on the child’s behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted with a notice on this page and, where appropriate, communicated by email.
12. Contact
For questions about this policy or to exercise your rights, please contact our Grievance Officer via the Grievance Redressal page.
